Hardik Pandya’s golden form continues in SMAT 2024-25, smashes 28 runs in one over

New Delhi: Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has made a big impact with the bat for Baroda in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024-25. He played another sensational knock for his team against Tripura, scoring 47 runs off 23 balls with the help of five maximums and three boundaries on Friday, 29 November at Holkar Stadium in Indore.

Out of those five maximums, he smashed four in just one over. During the 10th over of Baroda’s innings, Pandya took on Tripura spinner Parvez Sultan and smacked him for a maximum on the first, third, fourth and sixth delivery. He also hit a boundary on the fifth ball of the over.

He started the over with a huge six-over cover and after a dot delivery, he smashed a maximum on the third ball. He hit the third six of the over towards the leg side and tried to smash the fifth ball for a maximum as well but got the outside edge and the ball raced away for a boundary. He ended the over with another maximum over long-off to complete a 28-run over.

Mandeep Singh’s fifty helped Tripura to score 109 runs in 20 overs. Akash Maharaj picked up three wickets and skipper Krunal Pandya also took two wickets. In reply, Baroda chased down the target in 11.2 overs. Mitesh Patel and Hardik Pandya made an important contribution with the bat.

Pandya has been in sensational form in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2024-25. He scored an unbeaten 74 runs off 35 balls against Gujarat and amassed an unbeaten 41 runs off 21 balls against Uttarakhand. Pandya hammered 69 runs off 30 deliveries against Tamil Nadu and followed it up with 47 runs off 23 balls against Tripura. His form is a massive boost for Team India. He is the fourth-highest run-getter in the ongoing tournament, scoring 231 runs in 4 matches.
