Cole Palmer believes his connection with Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson is evolving

New Delhi: Chelsea’s Cole Palmer has said that his tuning with Nicolas Jackson has been improving as the duo scored during their side’s 3-0 home victory over Aston Villa during the Premier League on Sunday. Enzo Maresca’s side has collected 25 points from 13 games of the season and levelled with Arsenal, who are in second place and are just nine points behind Premier League table leaders Liverpool.

Coming from Villareal, Jackson had a below-par season with Chelsea last season. However, this season, he has eight Premier League goals to his name, on a level with Palmer, who has scored eight times and made six assists. Palmer noted that the duo were collaborating well. The 22-year-old noted that they speak as much as possible off the field and message evening after the game.

Palmer feels that working on their relationship off the field has helped their on-field camaraderie. Last season, Chelsea finished sixth but have been much more consistent this season, losing only to Liverpool and Manchester City. When quizzed about finishing in the Champions League, Palmer quickly noted that the league was still at a starting stage, although consistent performance would go a long way.

He noted that while a chunk Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal’s squad have been together for a while, the Chelsea squad has many players who have been playing with club for only a season. This is one of the prime reasons they hope to keep winning and enjoy the game as much as possible.

As the season’s first midweek clash approaches, Chelsea will visit St Mary’s Stadium in midweek for their game against Southampton before their Tottenham Hotspur clash on Sunday. With Tottenham showing inconsistencies and often winning against the big teams, the Blues will hope to secure three points.

With the duo piling up 16 goals between themselves, Cole Palmer believes their off-field interaction is helping their on-field collaboration.  Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
