Use a regular firm mattress of at least 4 inches thick. Avoid sleeping on the ground as getting up and down from the ground puts excess strain on the lower back.
Lift carefully to avoid Injury: Not bending your knees while lifting heavy items or objects like groceries can put extreme pressure on your healthy spine. Always lift carefully and bend when picking and lifting heavy items. This helps avoid sudden strain or injury to your lower back. Avoid forward bending while lifting and picking up something from the ground.
Maintain a good posture: Avoid sitting in poor posture such as slouching or hunching for longer hours, particularly during the winter. Use a good chair that helps support your back and keep it straight to reduce unnecessary pressure on your spine. Every hour, you must change position and every 3 hours stretch your neck and lower back. Perform planks and Surya Namaskar daily as they are great spine-strengthening exercises.
