New Delhi: Lung cancer is the leading cause of death across the world. According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), the incidence of lung cancer is spread at a rampant speed every year in India. The condition contributes to about 10 per cent of cancer deaths and stands at the fourth position in terms of the absolute number of lung cancer cases with 81,000 cases and 75,000 deaths reported in 2022. The statistics are expected to double by 2025.
