New Delhi: A man in Taiwan divorced his wife alleging that she demanded a fee every time they had sex or even talk. According to South China Morning Post, the man first filed for divorce in 2021 but withdrew the petition after his wife agreed to work on their relationship.
The news outlet reported that the woman had allegedly told relatives that her husband was ‘too fat’ and ‘incompetent’.
The couple tied the knot in 2014 and had two children. After sometime into the marriage, the man claimed that his wife restricted sex to once a month in 2017 and stopped talking to him. In 2019, she rejected it completely without any reason.
According to the man, his wife then started charging money for every time he wanted to have sex or even talk to her.
According to South China Morning Post, the wife allegedly started charging Rs 1,200 ($15 approx) whenever her husband wanted to have sex or talk to her.
By the time the man filed for divorce again, it had been two years since she stopped talking to him. Messaging Apps was the only medium through which the couple used to communicate if they had to. They went through counselling sessions which didn’t work either.
Finally, a court in Taiwan granted divorce to the couple and remarked that the relationship was “cold and difficult to fix”. Though, the wife didn’t want it. She appealed in a higher court but it was rejected.
