New Delhi: There were intense bidding wars for Indian pacers on Day 1 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on Sunday, November 24. Delhi Capitals (DC) splurged big money to sign left-arm pacer T Natarajan while Gujarat Titans (GT) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) spent big on Prasidh Krishna and Avesh Khan, respectively.
Prasidh was the first Indian pacer to go under the hammer in the sixth set which comprised of capped pacers. Prasidh’s former franchise Rajasthan Royals (RR) were involved in a bidding war with the Titans for the pacer. However, they failed to buy him back as GT signed for Rs 9 crore. Prasidh has picked up 49 wickets in 51 matches in his IPL career.
Avesh was the next Indian pacer to go under the hammer and was roped in by his former team Lucknow Super Giants. LSG paid Rs 9.75 crore to sign the pacer, who was also wanted by the likes of Punjab Kings and Rajasthan Royals. Avesh was part of the LSG squad in IPL 2023 before getting traded to Rajasthan Royals ahead of IPL 2024. He has 74 wickets to his name in 63 matches in the IPL.
Delhi Capitals go big on T Natarajan
Delhi Capitals went all out to secure the services of Indian pacer T Natarajan at the IPL 2025 mega auction. DC splurged Rs 10.75 crore to sign the left-arm pacer. Natarajan was part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad last season and was one of the vital cogs in their bowling line-up. The left-arm pacer is known for his lethal yorkers and precision with the ball in the death overs. Natarajan has 67 wickets to his name in 61 matches in the IPL.

Chennai Super Kings buy Khaleel Ahmed
Chennai Super Kings, who let go of the likes of Deepak Chahar, Mustafizur Rahman and Tushar Deshpande ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, made a smart buy by roping in left-arm Indian pacer Khaleel Ahmed for Rs 4.80 crore. Khaleel has 74 wickets to his name in 57 matches in his IPL career. However, CSK might still buy back the likes of Chahar and Deshpande at the auction.
