New Delhi: Haryana pacer Anshul Kamboj found a new home in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as he was picked by five-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for a sum of Rs. 3.4 crore at the mega auction taking place in Jeddah. Kamboj, who has been on fire in the domestic circuit lately, bore fruits of his eye-catching performances for Haryana in the Ranji Trophy.
He was part of the uncapped pacers set which went under the hammer on Day 2 of the mega auction. Several quicks were sold but Kamboj remained a notable pick, being picked by a franchise, known for turning the fortunes of a player, specially those in the early stages of their career. The Karnal-born pacer made heads turn in a recent Ranji game between Haryana and Kerala where he picked all 10 wickets of the opposition, adding to the glory of the tournament.
Taking on Kerala in Lahli, the 23-year-old registered his career-best figures 10/49 (30.1 overs), skittling out Kerala for 291.
