New Delhi: The Sensex on Tuesday closed 105.79 points lower at 80,004.06, while the Nifty was at 24,194.50, down 27.40 points. On the 30-share Sensex, UltraTech Cement, Adani Ports, and were the top drags. Asian Paints, Infosys, and JSW Steel were the top gainers. Global markets were in red following US President-elect Donald Trump’s comments that he may impose tariffs on Mexico, Canada and China after assuming office on January 20.

BLS E-Services: The digital services provider completed the acquisition of a 57 per cent stake in Aadifidelis Solutions and its units for Rs 123 crore.
NTPC: The state-owned power company’s arm NTPC Green inked a 50:50 joint venture with Maharashtra State Power Generation Company.
Vedanta: The mining giant announced plans to invest $2 billion in Saudi Arabia-based copper projects. Vedanta Copper International. Vdanta’s UK-based parent Vedanta Resources raised $800 million via fresh bond issuance from global investors.
Vodafone Idea: The telco’s stock jumped 8 per cent after the Union Cabinet reportedly waived bank guarantee requirements for spectrum purchased via auctions conducted prior to 2022.
Waaree Energies: The renewable energy compoany secured a an order to supply 600 MWp solar modules, scheduled for delivery from the start of FY26.
Wipro: The IT giant said it had extended its partnership with Marelli by 4 years. The IT company will focus on the Italian to focus on the Italian automotive solutions provider’s cloud transformation.
Zomato: The food delivery aggregator opened its Rs 8,500 crore Qualified Institutional Placement (QIP), with a floor price of Rs 265.91 per share.
Zee Entertainment: ZEEL unit Margo Networks said it had lost claims in arbitration related to the termination of content-on-demand services by RailTel Corp of India.
