New Delhi: Banks will remain closed for 17 days in December 2024 due to state-specific and national holidays. The banks, both private and public, will also observe holidays on second & fourth Saturdays and every Sunday of the month. The customers are advised to schedule their bank-related works in accordance with the holidays.
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) list of holidays for next month mentions that the banks will remain closed for Feast of St. Francis Xavier, Pa-Togan Nengminja Sangma, Death Anniversary of U SoSo Tham, Goa Liberation Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas, Christmas Celebration, Christmas Celebration, U Kiang Nangbah and New Year’s Eve/Lossong/Namsoong.

December 12: Banks will observe holiday fro Pa-Togan Nengminja Sangma in Meghalaya
December 18: Banks to remain closed in Meghalaya on account of Death Anniversary of U SoSo Tham
December 19: Banks closed in Goa for Goa Liberation Day
December 24: Banks will remain closed in Mizoram, Meghalaya and Nagaland on Christmas Eve
December 25: Banks across the country will remain closed for Christmas
December 26: Bank holiday in Nagaland, Mizoram, and Meghalaya for Christmas Celebration
December 27: Christmas Celebration to continue in Nagaland and Meghalaya so banks will remain closed in these two states
December 30: Banks to observe holiday in Meghalaya for U Kiang Nangbah
December 31: Banks closed in Mizoram, Sikkim for New Year’s Eve/Lossong/Namsoong
