New Delhi: After notching up an emphatic victory in the first Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Perth, Team India would be aiming for a double celebration when they take on hosts Australia in the second match of the five-game series in Adelaide. Ahead of the fixture, which still is a week away, skipper Rohit Sharma and star batter Virat Kohli were seen polishing their batting skills at a net practice session.
Rohit, who missed the series opener due to the birth of his second child, will be back to lead the team in the second Test match. Pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah led India in the Perth Test and shined as India emerged victorious in the encounter by a big margin, setting the perfect base for the rest of the four matches. On the other hand, Kohli who was in a bad form since a long time in the longest format, bounced back after 16 months with match-winning century in the first Test.
Rohit, Kohli captured in one frame
Meanwhile, both the senior batters were caught in a single frame at a net practice session in Adelaide where they were seen working hard ahead of the second Test. In a short Star Sports video which was available on social media site X, Rohit and Kohli were caught practicing with intent and positivity as some other Indian players were also caught in the frame watching the two experienced batters play.

India would be hoping that both the experienced batters come out and show up in the rest of games as these are crucial for India with respect to the World Test Championship scenario. If India manage to win four out of five matches, they will earn a direct entry into the WTC finals and if it doesn’t happen, their qualification will depend on the performance and points of the other teams.
