New Delhi: India defeated Australia Prime Minister’s XI by six wickets in their pink-ball warm-up match at the Manuka Oval in Canberra on Sunday. While Harshit Rana impressed with the ball, the likes of Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Nitish Reddy played useful knocks to help India secure victory in the rain-affected clash which was reduced to a 46 overs-a-side contest on Day 2.
Batting first, Australia Prime Minister’s XI rode on a brilliant century from opener Sam Konstas to post 240 runs on the board. In reply, India chased down the target of 241 runs comfortably in 42.5 overs with 5 wickets to spare. However, considering it was a practice match, India were allowed to bat all 46 overs and finished with 257/5 on the board.
