New Delhi: Rohit Sharma-led Team India reached Adelaide ahead of the second Test against Australia, starting on December 6, Friday. After clinching the Perth Test by 295 runs, India will aim to continue their winning run in the pink-ball Test at the Adelaide Oval.
Rohit, who missed the first Test due to the birth of his second child, joined the squad in the middle of the match at the Optus Stadium and played in the India vs Australia PM XI two-day match at the Manuka Oval in Canberra.
In Rohit’s absence, Jasprit Bumrah led the side brilliantly as India claimed their first-ever win at the Optus Stadium and took a 1-0 lead in the five-match series.
With Rohit returning to lead the side, India will aim to double their lead at the Adelaide Oval. Ahead of the pink-ball Test, Rohit’s men reached the team hotel in Adelaide, three days before the action starts at the Adelaide Oval.

All eyes on Kohli, and Rohit in Adelaide
All eyes will be on Indian veterans Virat Kohli and Rohit in the Adelaide Test. While Kohli, after hitting a superb century in the Perth Test, will look to continue his good form in the second Test, Rohit will be aiming to return to scoring ways after a difficult home series against New Zealand.
With Gill also fit to be part of the playing XI, Rohit is likely to slot in at No.3 and the youngster will possibly move down the order as the team management looks set to continue with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill opening pairing.
The Adelaide nightmare
Playing their fifth pink-ball Test, India doesn’t want to remember the last time they played in Adelaide. The infamous pink-ball Test four years ago, when India were all out for 36 – their lowest total in Test history – still sends shivers down the spine of Indian fans. Overall, India have a 3-1 win-loss record in the four pink-ball Tests they have played so far.
