New Delhi: Puneri Paltan’s head coach BC Ramesh stepped down from his role ahead of the PKL 11 playoffs. The final leg of PKL 11 kick-off and the home team head coach resigned just before the playoffs.
The decision to step down came after Paltan lost their first match of Pune’s leg against U Mumba. Mumba crushed Paltan with a score line of 43-29 at the Balewadi Sports Complex on December 3, Tuesday. Ramesh helped the Paltan’s side to their first-ever PKL title in the last season.
Paltan are currently in the seventh position and are contesting for the playoffs contentions. After resigning from the coach’s position, Ramesh will be the advisor for the team this season.
The Arjuna Award winner has major achievements in PKL history. He was the assistant coach of Bengaluru Bulls in PKL 6 when the Bulls won their first-ever PKL trophy. After that, Ramesh was the coach of Bengal Warriorz in PKL season 7 and led them to their first-ever PKL title in season 7.
He coached Paltan in PKL season 9 and took his side to their first-ever PKL final and after that, he took Paltan to their first-ever PKL trophy in PKL season 10. This season wasn’t that much bad for Paltan’s but Ramesh stepped down after the team’s average performances in the ongoing season.

According to reports, Indian Kabaddi legend Anup Kumar will take charge of Puneri Paltan after BC Ramesh. Anup is the most successful leader in PKL history as he won the first-ever PKL title with U Mumba. Anup led his team to the glory.
Paltan’s skipper Aslam Inamdar also ruled out from the PKL season 11 with an injury. As of now, nothing is going in the favor of Paltan in this season. He was missing from the squad from the second leg of PKL and Paltan will look to make a mark without their stars in this season.
