New Delhi: The UFC Lightweight champion Islam Makhachev will make his return to the octagon after seven months. Makhachev will battle out against Arman Tsarukyan in a highly anticipated rematch. Both fighters met in April 2019, where Arman gave a tough fight to Makhachev but unfortunately lost the match and now Arman will look to avenge his loss and win the UFC Lightweight title.
The first fight between Islam and Arman was announced as the Fight of the Night and it was also Arman’s debut in UFC. Islam will be defending his title for the fourth time and fans are seeing Arman as the toughest opponent that Islam has ever faced.
Islam hasn’t lost any single fight in the last 9 years and he is also the number one pound-for-pound fighter in the world. While Arman defeated former lightweight champion Charles Oliviera in his last fight and earned his title shot.
Arman has only a single loss in his UFC career, he lost to Mateusz Gamrot in June 2022 but after the loss, Arman made a strong comeback and won four consecutive fights in the division.
UFC 311 co-main event
UFC Bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili will defend his title against Umar Nurmagomedov. Dvalishvili won the title at UFC 306 and it will be his first title defense. He is also on an 11-fight win streak and defeated every fighter in the bantamweight division.
Umar is undefeated in his career with a spectacular record of 18-0. He defeated Cory Sandhagen in his last fight and will be looking to capture the bantamweight title. It will be a toughest fight for the champion as Umar’s grappling skills are quite excellent and Merab has to tackle his grappling skills in the octagon.
UFC legend Khabib Nurmagomedov’s both brothers will be headlining the UFC 311 event and fans might see a glimpse of Khabib in the pay-per-view.
