Ciryl Gane sparks debate after controversial win at UFC 310

New Delhi: Ciryl Gane emerged victorious against Alexander Volkov via a split decision (29-28,28-29,29-28) at the T-Mobile arena in Las Vegas on December 8, Sunday. Gane broke his toes early in the fight but continued to fight against Volkov.

Volkov started the fight with quick low kicks, and Gane responded well to them. Volkov attempted the first takedown in the first minute itself. Volkov was controlling the fight on the ground but Gane stood up on his feet and attempted takedown on Volkov.

In the second round, Gane was trying to close the distance but Volkov was ready with his jabs and caught Gane with a back fist. Vokov then targeted the body of Gane with some hard kicks. The second round was much fought in the feet.

Volkov held the leg of Gane but Gane rolled back and tried to hit Kimura on Volkov. Gane grabbed the arm of Volkov but Volkov locked him with his right hand and no fighter could do much in the final round. Volkov had the edge to win this fight as he had more takedowns in the fight compared to Gane.

But the Judges gave the decision in favor of Gane and everyone was disappointed by the decision. Gane left the octagon straightway and didn’t look happy with the judge’s decision.
