Shardul Thakur dismissed Madhya Pradesh openers in the second over of the match after Captain Shreyas Iyer opted to field first in the final. Subhranshu Senapati and Harpreet Singh forged a 42-run partnership for the third wicket. Ankolekar removed Harpreet Singh on 15 runs while Shivam Dube dismissed Senapati on 23 runs.

Suryakumar, Shedge and Rahane shine in run chase

Chasing the big target, Mumbai got off to a poor start as Tripuresh Singh removed Prithvi Shaw on 10 runs in the first over. Ajinkya Rahane and Shreyas Iyer stitched a 32-run partnership for the second wicket. Tripuresh took his second wicket of the match and dismissed skipper Iyer on 16 runs.

Suryakumar Yadav and Rahane forged a crucial 52-run partnership for the third wicket. Venkatesh Iyer removed Rahane on 37 runs to put pressure on Mumbai. Suryakumar batted brilliantly and scored 48 runs off 35 balls. He smashed three maximums and four boundaries during his explosive knock. He was dismissed by Shivam Shukla in the 15th over.

Mumbai looked in a bit of trouble in the death over but Shedge’s cameo powered them to a comfortable 5-wicket victory in final at the Chinnaswamy.
