New Delhi: Bangladesh spinner Mahedi Hasan starred with the ball to help his side beat West Indies by 7 runs in the 1st T20I at the Arnos Vale Ground in Kingstown, St Vincent on Monday. Hasan picked up a four-wicket haul to help the visitors successfully defend a moderate total of 147 runs in the opener and go 1-0 up in the three-match series.
It was a much-needed victory for Bangladesh as they finally returned to winning ways after getting whitewashed 3-0 in the ODI series against the hosts. West Indies skipper Rovman Powell played a sublime knock of 60 runs but his efforts went in vain as they were not enough to get the hosts over the line in the 148-run chase in the 1st T20I.
