India, Australia settle for a draw in 3rd Test at Gabba after Day 5 gets called off

New Delhi: The rain-marred third Test between India and Australia at the Gabba in Brisbane ended in a draw after Day 5’s play was called off due to bad weather and poor light on Wednesday. India could bat only 2.1 overs in their second innings and score 8 runs without losing a wicket before the play was interrupted due to bad light. The draw in the 3rd Test leaves the five-match series in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 evenly poised at 1-1.

After India were bundled out for 260 runs in their first innings, the bowlers produced a strong show to put Australia under pressure in their second innings. Jasprit Bumrah was once again at his lethal best as he finished with excellent figures of 3/18 in his six overs to force Australia to declare at 89/7, setting up a target of 275 runs for India in their second innings.
