New Delhi: Star Sports, on Friday, released the promo of fourth Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy between India and Australia scheduled to take place at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) from December 26 to December 30. The series stands equally poised at 1-1 after the third Test at the Gabba, Brisbane ended in a draw due to persistent bad weather all through the five days.
The toughest rivalry intensifies between two of the great cricketing nations as the Boxing Day Test’s excitement and relevance has always been a tad different from the rest of the Test matches in the series. Meanwhile, Star Sports released a promo, 6 days ahead of the start of the match, which emphasised on the rivalry between India and Australia going on to the next level. Showcasing some bits and pieces from the past three matches of the series, the promo seems to reignite the excitement level to a different level.

As per official data, the first two Test matches have collectively reached a massive 86 million viewers on television with an estimated watch time of 12.8 billion minutes. The current data suggest an increase of 55 per cent and 75 per cent respectively as compared to the 2020 series. Television rating has also witnessed a mammoth growth, with a gain of 32 per cent as compared to the 2020 day-night Tests.
The new heights of the remarkable BGT do not end here as it has become the highest-rated bilateral away Test matches since the founding of BARC in 2015. Meanwhile, the second Test match at the Adelaide Oval witnessed around 49 million viewers, which accounted to an increase of 22 per cent as compared to the 202 day/night Test match between India and Australia. The watch-time has also jumped to 4.2 billion minutes, a massive 26 per cent growth over the 2020 match.
