New Delhi: Glenn Maxwell proved his amazing hard-hitting skills in the Big Bash League (BBL) match between Melbourne Stars and Adelaide Strikers at the Adelaide Oval on Friday. In the sixth match of the tournament, Maxwell, though was unable to smash a big score, but made an impact with his short stay at the crease. The fearless batter hit 15 runs in just 5 balls, with the highlight of his short knock being the two monstrous sixes he hit.
The Stars chasing 166 runs had to swift in their proceedings which prompted Maxwell to light up the stage with two brilliant consecutive shots. In the sixth over of the second innings when the Stars had lost two wickets, Maxwell provided some fire to the chase with his finest reverse sweep shots which easily crossed the boundary rope giving the side 12 runs in just 2 deliveries.
The fourth ball of the over, bowled by Cameron Boyce, was pitched on the middle and off stump and as soon as the ball hit the ground, Maxwell changed his stance and smashed the ball out of the ropes. The last ball of the over was given a similar treatment by the veteran batter as that delivery was also bowled on the middle and off stump and got a fierce punishment from the lethal Maxwell.
