New Delhi: After a string of poor performances, Arjun Tendulkar finally overcame his lean patch, achieving his maiden significant milestone in white-ball cricket. Weeks after he was dropped from Goa’s Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy squad after a series of poor performances, Arjun picked up three wickets against Odisha in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy match, to complete the milestone of 50 wickets in white-ball cricket.
The left-handed pacer, who made his T20 debut for Mumbai in 2021, before shifting to Goa, now has a total tally of 51 wickets in 41 white-ball matches. Meanwhile in List A cricket, he has claimed 24 wickets in 17 contests while 27 wickets in 24 games. Arjun, who is the son of legendary Sachin Tendulkar, Arjun was retained by his franchise Mumbai Indians for a base price of Rs 30 lakh.

Rollercoaster ride for Arjun since debut
Arjun Tendulkar started his domestic career for Mumbai in 2020/21 season, where he participated in a single T20 match for the side against Haryana. After being associated with Mumbai for couple of years, Arjun shifted to Goa team in the 2022/23 season, making his first-class and List A debut for the team in 2022.
Meanwhile, in red-ball cricket, the player has made his appearance in 17 matches scoring 532 runs including a century and two fifties. He has also picked 37 wickets including one five-wicket haul and one four-fer. Arjun Tendulkar’s stint with Mumbai Indians in IPL 2024 was marred by a thrashing and an injury.
In his debut match in the 2024 edition against Lucknow Super Giants, where he replaced spreadhead Jasprit Bumrah, Tenedulkar received a thrashing of two consecutive sixes and conceded 10 runs before that. The bowler ended up with giving 22 runs without any wicket and had to leave the field due to muscle cramps.
