India in big trouble at SCG
The Men in Blue got off to a poor start in the first Test after opting to bat first at Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG). Boland removed KL Rahul on 4 runs in the fifth over while Mitchell Starc dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal on 10 runs. Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill stitched a 40-run partnership for the third wicket but Nathan Lyon dismissed Gill just before the lunch on 20 runs.
Kohli batted well and left a lot of outside-off deliveries but was removed by Boland in the same manner on 17 runs. Boland removed Pant on 40 runs and the very next ball, he dismissed Nitish Kumar Reddy on a duck. The Men in Blue need to win the fifth Test to draw the five-match series at 2-2.
