New Delhi: And breathe… What a fantastic end to the match between Fulham and Ipswich as a last gasp penalty from Raul Jimenez decided the outcome of the game where both the sides shared the spoils after a 2-2 draw. It was an end-to-end contest between the two sides who just gave everything on the pitch to get those three points. However, the final score meant that the hosts managed to rescue a point late, to hold on to their eighth spot with 30 points, meanwhile Ipswich hearts were broken as they stay 18th while a win woud have pulled them out of the relegation zone.
Fulham were shocked into action by Ipswich’s goal in the first half, when Liam Delap displayed great strength to fend off Fulham’s Andersen. After he played it to Leif Davis, he located Nathan Broadhead. Ben Johnson jumped highest at the back post but his header struck the underside of the bar but stayed in-play. Sammy Szmodics was ready to grab the stray ball and hammered it home from inside the zone to give Ipswich the lead. Ipswich still managed to create a few chances afterwards but failed to add on to their lead in the first half.

The home team were unable to create many clear-cut opportunities and ended the half down. In the second half, McKenna’s side attempted to stifle their London rivals once more, but they ultimately gave in to Fulham pressure through the odd choice made by midfield captain Morsy, who stepped on Wilson’s heel as he moved into the Ipswich box. After verifying the VAR team’s suspicions and examining the monitor, the referee was given the opportunity to award the spot kick. It was put away without any hesitation by Raul Jimenez to level the score.
Liam Delap moved down the other end and won himself a penalty, the second in back-to-back games, as Fulham appeared to still be celebratingn the goal. He brushed it off and buried it in the corner opposite Leno’s thrashing dive. But the away team were unable to hold on, as Leif Davis was duped by a touch of brilliance inside the Ipswich area, resulting in the awarding of the third penalty of the game. Jimenez slot it home with ice in his veins to level the score in added time. That’s where the final whistle blew and it ended 2-2 at Craven Cottage.

The 53 goals that Javier Hernández scored, a record for most by any Mexican playyer in the Premier League is now history. A new Mexican player has risen to the top of that scoring rankings as Raúl Jiménez has surpassed the former Manchester United striker with 55 English top flight goals to his name.
Great things are still in store for him this season at Fulham. Although he has scored eight goals in his 20 games, his contribution to the Cottagers’ offense is even more noteworthy because, under Marco Silva’s direction, he serves as a clear focal point when the squad plans its offences upfront. It will be interesting to see how the rest of the season unfolds for the Mexican.
A highly entertaining end to a game where there were three penalties scored, as Fulham managed to draw the game in the dying minutes to break travelling Ipswich fans’ hearts. Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
