New Delhi: Former UFC Bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley revealed his next opponent when he will return to the octagon. O’Malley lost his title against Merab Dvalishvili at the UFC 306 event on September 2024. After the loss, O’Malley didn’t return to the octagon but now revealed his choice to face on his return.

The Bantamweight champion is set to face Umar Nurmagomedov at the first flagship event of the 2025 year UFC 311 on January 19, Sunday. So, O’Malley has to wait for his rematch against Dvalishvili but O’Malley prefers the winner of the match as his next opponent.

O’Malley wants a title fight on his return, whoever wins the match he wants to face him in the octagon.

“Ideally, Merab beats Umar and I get the rematch, ’Malley said about what he’d like to see happen next. But if Umar wins, it’ll be Umar. That’s what I want next is a title fight.” O’Malley stated.

“Hopefully mid-next year. So the winner of that one. That fight’s coming up very, very soon.” he added.

This will be the first title defense for the champ and Nurmagomedov is still unbeaten in his professional MMA career. The fight will be in the co-main event of UFC 311.

Islam Makhachev is set to defend his title against long-time rival Arman Tsarykuan in the main event of UFC 311 pay-per-view. Arman gave a tough competition when both faced each other first time but failed to win the match.
