New Delhi: Former West Ham manager, Harry Redknapp has criticized the club for its disrespectful treatment towards current coach Julen Lopetegui. Reports indicate that West Ham is discussing with ex-Chelsea manager Graham Potter to take over as coach while Lopetegui is still employed.
Redknapp stated while speaking to BBC, “It’s disrespectful. If you want to get rid of him, then you call him and say I’m sorry it’s not worked out, but obviously, talks have been going on with Graham Potter.”
He emphasised that Graham Potter is the Hammers’ top choice, but managing West Ham is no easy feat. The expectations at London Stadium are exceptionally high. “Potter appears to be the leading candidate. However, whoever takes the reins at West Ham will not only need to deliver a winning team but also ensure the style of play aligns with what fans regard as the ‘West Ham way,’” he stated.

The Spanish manager Lopetegui is nearing the end of his time at the club as the Hammers have also cancelled an FA Cup media conference today. West Ham are currently 14th in the Premier League standings with just 23 points after facing two heavy defeats at the hands of Liverpool (5-0) and Manchester City (4-1).
A clear sign that Irons are set to sack Lopetegui as Potter seems poised to step in, marking his first managerial role since being sacked by Chelsea in April 2023. Previously, Potter had successful stints with Brighton, Swansea, and Swedish club Ostersunds FK, earning a reputation for building competitive teams.
With Lopetegui on the brink and Potter in the wings, West Ham faces critical decisions as they navigate their struggles this season.
