New Delhi: Indian cricket legend Rahul Dravid is celebrating his 52nd birthday on Saturday, January 11. One of the most revered figures in Indian cricket, Dravid has been one of the greatest servants of the game. The former India batter was dubbed ‘The Wall’ during his playing days for his ability to stand tall under immense pressure in all sorts of conditions.
He continued to be Indian cricket’s ‘Mr. Dependable’ even after returning as he continued to impress as a coach. Dravid worked with the India A and the India U-19 teams where he played a key role in nurturing the growth of several current Indian stars before taking over as the head coach of the senior Indian men’s team.
Under Dravid, Rohit Sharma-led India brought an end to the country’s over a decade-long wait for an ICC title by lifting the T20 World Cup 2024 trophy last year. ‘The Wall’ continues to be adored by Indian cricket fans for not just his cricketing achievements and acumen but also his humility and dedication to the sport.
