A day after the two benchmark indices lost 1.36% and 1.47% respectively, both Sensex 30 and Nifty 50 opened in the green today, January 14, 2025. At 9:15 am, Sensex stood at 76,644.03 points, up 314.02 points or 0.41%, while Nifty stood at 23,193.75, up 107.80 points or 0.47%.

On January 9, 2025, there was bloodbath in the stock market. Both Sensex and Nifty came under heavy selling pressure and ended the trading session deep in the red. At close of trade, Sensex was down 1,048.90 points (or 1.36%) to end the day at 76,330.01. On the other hand, Nifty plunged 345.55 points (or 1.47%) to end at 23,085.95 points. As a result of this steep fall, investors cumulatively recorded a loss of Rs 14 lakh crore at the end of the day.
