While the first Vande Bharat Express of India runs between New Delhi and Varanasi, the second Vande Bharat Express train connects Delhi with Jammu and Kashmir. It runs between Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra (SVDK) and New Delhi and both the trains are operated by the Northern Railway (NR) zone. The Indian Railways has cancelled the services of New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express.

Indian Railways has cancelled the New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-New Delhi Vande Bharat Express for 50 days. Its operation will remain cancelled from January 16 to March 6, 2025 due to pre-Non-interlocking/ Non-Interlocking work in the Jammu yard which is related to the Jammu station redevelopment work.

The Vande Bharat Express train between New Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra covers 655 km of distance in 8 hours and 5 minutes. It is the route’s fastest train ahead of Jammu Rajdhani and Jammu Tawi Duronto. They cover the distance in 8 hours 20 minutes and in 8 hours 40 minutes respectively. The train, during its journey halts at four stations: Ambala Cantonment, Pathankot Cantonment, Ludhiana Junction, and Jammu Tawi.

The train operates on all days of the week except on Wednesday. It departs from New Delhi at 6 am and reaches Katra at 2:05 pm. During the return journey, the train departs from Katra at 2:55 pm and reaches New Delhi at 11:00 pm. The train has AC Chair Car and Executive Chair Car. The fare of the AC Chair Car is Rs 1665 while the ticket price for Executive Chair Car is Rs 3055.
