New Delhi: According to certain reports, Manchester City has prepared a bid for Juventus full-back Andrea Cambiaso that is close to €65 million (£54.7 million). During the winter transfer window, the defending Premier League winners have been remarkably active. City have traditionally used January to acquire young diamonds, frequently from South America, and then promptly loan them out. The 24-year-old fullback’s performances for Juventus are certainly going under the radar. Cambiaso is a reliable defender who has the tendency to go forward when needed and also fall back and fulfil his usual defensive duties. He has a rather rare combination being a left-footed player and playing at the right side of the defensive line which is rare these days. Over the years football fans have witnessed some of the most legendary and talented defenders and Cambiaso is certainly the one who can emerge as one of the future candidates to that list.

Andrea Cambiaso has established himself as one of the better fullbacks in the Italian league for the past few seasons. Cambiaso’s versatility allows him to play in multiple positions at the back as he can be used in both the flanks of the defence, and also in an advanced role of right-wing back as wll as left-wing back. He has the pace, stamina and the ability to fall back and defend his corners after moving upfront, that makes him a big asset for any top side. Considering the recent defensive crisis that Manchester City have faced this season with the ageing Kyle Walker’s drastic dip in form and a possible move to some other club, Cambiaso might just be the go-to guy for Pep Guardiola.
Despite the fact that Cambiaso, mostly plays on the left side of defence at Juventus, the Telegraph claims that City sees him as a long-term alternative for Kyle Walker. Given that Guardiola disclosed the defender’s wish to depart, City’s seasoned right-back may be traveling to Italy this month.
