‘It’s not a school, it’s not a punishment’: Ajit Agarkar
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) introduced strict guidelines for centrally contracted players to “promote positive environment and unity in the dressing room”. The board has asked every player to participate in the domestic tournaments, restrict them from travelling separately and limit family visits to 14 days during overseas tours.
Chief selector Ajit Agarkar also talked about the new guidelines and said that this is not a school and these guidelines are not a punishment. He further added that it’s just you have some rules and when you are playing for the national team, you just follow the rules.
“These are mature individuals. They are superstars in their own right in international sport. They know how to handle themselves” Agarkar said.
