New Delhi: Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick didn’t mince words after his side drew 1-1 against Getafe in La Liga’s Saturday clash, with their winless streak now extending to four games. Flick felt that the side had failed to grab chances despite dominating the game against a low-placed Getafe, having 80% possession and many more goal attempts as well. disappointed
Flick expressed his disappointment in his post-match conference after having “chances to win” but failing to score more goals. Flick noted that Getafe’s defence was very strong and Barca were not on target as well, especially in the first half. Getafe’s five-man defence was unbreachable as Raphinha missed a close chance to put Barca back in the lead. The German manager pointed out that the second half was filled with inaccurate passes.
Hansi Flick: “We’re left with this bit of disappointment. Possession is usually more effective. We could have done much better.”
“6 wins in the last 24 matches. I’m not worried.”

Before Saturday’s game, Barca were on a good roll having scored a 5-2 win in the Spanish Super final against Real Madrid and taking a 5-1 win against Real Betis in the Copa del Rey final 16 fixture. However, after Mauro Ambarri cancelled a ninth-minute strike from Jule Koude, the Blaugrana were unable to get ahead. A win would have ensured that they had reduced the six-point lead from Atletico Madrid who had lost 1-0 against Legane.
Though it wouldn’t have affected their place in the competition, however, they are still five points behind the leaders, placed third in the table with 39 points, behind both Atletico and Real Madrid. Flick though was sure that despite everything, they had a long way to go and they would be giving their everything to win the La Liga going forward.
Flick at one point was booked which the 59-year-old reflected as a result of the emotions in the stadium, which he was “experiencing” for the first time. For Barcelona, Getafe’s home stadium, Estadio Coliseum has caused some problems as they have failed to win at the venue in the last five seasons.
Alejandro Balde faces racist remarks during Getafe draw
Barcelona defender Alejandro Balde reacted to the racist comments targeted at him by fans. In the post-match interview, the Spanish international spoke about the racist comments made towards him and thought that it needed to be slammed on a public platform. Balde alleged that he had heard some racist slurs directed at him during the first half of the game.
His Barca boss Flick condemned the act and cleared his stance against racism noting that football had “no place for racism.” Flick further commented that racists shouldn’t come to games. Flick felt that everyone who hears racist comments should immediately berate the act.
Lately, the Spanish League has had multiple instances of racist chants and insults being thrown at players including Vincius Jr of Real Madrid having faced abuse on multiple occasions. Even in the second division, Elche has noted that their player Bambi Diaby was recently targeted with racist slurs during their 1-1 draw against Sporting Gijon.
Hansi Flick was left disappointed following Barcelona’s draw against 16th placed Getafe as Alejandro Balde comes forward with racist comments against him during the game. Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
