New Delhi: Novak Djokovic set up a mouth-watering quarter-final clash with Carlos Alcaraz after beating Czech Republic’s Jiri Lehecka in straight sets in the Round of 16 at the Australian Open 2025 on Sunday, January 19. Djokovic defeated Lehecka 6-3 6-4 7-6 (7-4) at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne to continue his quest for a record 25th Grand Slam title Down Under.
Djokovic headed into his 4th-round clash against Czech no.1 Lehecka as the favourite and lived up to the tag with yet another clinical display. The Serb was made to work hard in the third set but managed to prevail in the tie-breaker to wrap up a comfortable victory in the end. With the victory, Djokovic entered his 15th quarter-final at the Australian Open having won the title a record ten times.
