New Delhi: Star India opener Smriti Mandhana moved to the second position in the International Cricket Council’s ODI batting rankings, which was released on Tuesday.

Her impressibe form against Ireland helped her climb up the rankings table by a slot, being the only Indian in the top 10 of the list.

Mandhana scored 135 runs in the third ODI, apart from posting scores of 41 and 73 in the opening and second game.

The left hander now has amassed 738 rating points, behind the top-ranked South African Laura Wolvaardt (773 points) and above Sri Lanka’s Chamari Athapaththu (733).

Mandhana’s team-mate Jemimah Rodrigues moved up by two slots to be 17th, two spots behind India skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, who missed the series with injury. Rodrigues benefitted from scoring her maiden ton in the second ODI against Ireland.

Deepti moves up in bowling rankings

Deepti Sharma gained a spot to be placed fourth with 680 rating points while Spohie Ecclestone remains on top.

Deepti also has 344 points to be sixth in the all-rounders’ list. Australia’s Ashleigh Gardner led the all-rounders rankings after claiming four wickets and scored 146 runs in the Ashes.

It helped Gardner reclaim the top spot from veteran South African Marizanne Kapp. Gardner has been in form with both bat and ball, helping Australia won all three ODIs against England in the Ashes.

Gardner scored her first ODI ton against England, putting together 102 runs off as many balls in Hobart. She followed it up with a player-of-the-match performance in the first ODI at North Sydney Oval, takinh 19/3 off 6.1 overs as well as scoring 42 not out off 44 balls to guide Australia to a win.
