New Delhi: New Zealand star all-rounder Amelia Kerr has been in phenomenal form in 2024, especially in the T20I format. She was the highest-wicket taker in the T20I Women’s World Cup 2024 and helped the Kiwis to lift the first-ever World Cup in their cricketing history.
Kerr is the second Kiwi after Suzie Bates to win the award. Bates won the award way back in 2016 and now after eight years, Kerr followed in the footsteps of veteran player.
Kerr became the decisive player in the Kiwi’s squad as she stepped up in every crunch moment, whenever her team required her more. She gave a match-winning performance in the semi-final of the T20 World Cup by giving just 14 runs in her spell and took two important wickets.

Amelia Kerr’s T20I performance in 2024
Kerr scored 387 runs in 18 matches with an average of 24.18 and picked up 29 wickets at a magnificent strike rate of just 13.6 and no Kiwi player has achieved the feat in their history.
She took 15 wickets in the World Cup campaign in UAE which is the most by any women player in World Cup history. Kerr’s economy rate was just 4.85 in the World Cup and was a standout performer in the campaign.
Kerr also won the Player of the Match award in the big final of the T20I World Cup as she played a sensible knock of 43 runs in 38 balls and helped his side to post a decent total in the big final.
She did not just perform with the bat, in the second innings Kerr gave just 24 runs in her spell and removed three Proteas batters in the match. Her fielding efforts also had been exceptional throughout 2924.
