New Delhi: In one of the major developments of the Pro Kabaddi League, Bengaluru Bulls have released their head coach Randhir Singh Sehrawat on Tuesday. The franchise made the announcement on Tuesday. This ended the 11-year-association between the coach and the franchise.
Randhir was the only coach who has been with a single franchise as a coach since the inception of the PKL. The franchise lifted the title in the sixth season (2018-19). Additionally, the team has reached the knockout stage in six seasons, including the playoffs round, across 11 seasons.
“For over a decade, “Coach Saab” Randhir has been a cornerstone of our team’s journey, playing an integral role in shaping the success and achievements we have celebrated together. His dedication and leadership have left a lasting impact on the Bengaluru Bulls family,” Bengaluru Bulls released a statement on its social media platforms.
“We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Coach Randhir for his invaluable contributions and wish him nothing but the very best in his future endeavors,” the statement further read.
The Bengaluru Bulls couldn’t qualify for the PKL playoffs in the last two seasons, with their latest performance wasn’t quite appealing. Despite the return of leading PKL raider Pardeep Narwal in the ‘Red and Yellow’ colours, the Bulls had a dismal campaign in PKL 2024, managing only two wins out of a total 22 league matches to finish at the bottom of the table in the 12-team tournament.
BC Ramesh is the new coach of Bulls
Just hours after the announcement of Randhir Sehrawat’s departure, Bengaluru Bulls named BC Ramesh as their new head coach. Ramesh was the assistant coach under Randhir when the Bulls lifted their only PKL trophy in the 2018-19 season.
BC Ramesh has won PKL titles with Bengal Warriors in 2019 (PKL season 7) and Puneri Paltan in the 2023-24 (PKL season 10). However, the coach resigned after group stage of PKL season 11 as the Paltan failed to make it through the playoffs.
After 11 years, the Bengaluru Bulls of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) have released head coach Randhir Sehrawat. This ends a long and successful partnership, marked by the 2018-19 PKL title win. The team’s recent struggles, culminating in a disappointing 2024 season, led to the decision. Other Sports Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
