New Delhi: India lost their first T20 International match at home after a span of 426 days. On Tuesday, India went down to England by 26 runs in the third T20I match played at the Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Rajkot.

Indian leg-spinner Varun Chakravarthy’s sublime spell went in vain after India were hold at 145 for 9 in response to England’s 171 for 9 in the first innings. Though Abhishek Sharma played a few startling shots to start the chase, the opener couldn’t carry on it and was caught by Jofra Archer off Brydon Carse’s bowling.

The likes of Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav failed to add to their potential and departed on low scores as the hosts lost three wickets in the powerplay overs. England leg-spinner Adil Rashid further dented India’s chase with a magnificent delivery to stun Tilak Varma, the player who bailed India out of crisis in the previous game in Chennai.

The hopes were there when Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel were present at the crease in the slog overs, but the required rate climbed over 15 runs per over. England were backed by the incredible bowling from Adil Rashid (1 for 15) and Jamie Overton (3 for 24).

England won the third T20I match by a convincing margin of 26 runs to avoid the series loss and stand a chance for a potential comeback after making it to 2-1 in Rajkot.  Cricket Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
