New Delhi: Even a loud roar from thousands of die-hard Virat Kohli fans could not help the star India batter unleash his best in a jam-packed Arun Jaitley stadium in New Delhi on Friday. Batting in his den, with scores of supporters patting his back, Kohli’s Ranji Trophy return after a span of almost 13 years years, ended on a disappointing note as he could just last for 15 deliveries on the crease, scoring just 6.

It was a fresh day for the superstar of Indian cricket, with hopes relying high that he would showcase his batting prowess but to utter dismay, the fate remained the same as it has been for a while now. While Kohli’s dismissal was obviously the biggest thing that happened in the game, his wicket brought Railways bowler Himanshu Sangwan to the limelight.

29-year-old Sangwan, who has been in the Indian domestic circuit for more than 5 years now, claimed one of the most prized wicket and the biggest of his career, undoubtedly, by uprooting the off stump of one of the greatest in the game. The Delhi-born pacer somewhere knew that he was going to dismiss Virat Kohli and had probably prepared himself for the moment, as revealed by his pre-match Instagram activity.

Before the commencement of the second day of the game, Sangwan, somewhere knowing that he will have to face the heat of the Kohli fans, turned his public profile private to stay away from all the hate messages. On previous occasions as well, bowlers around the globe have faced a lot of public wrath and trolling after having dismissed any of the celebrated cricketers.

The Railway bowlers’ decision proved to be correct as some other social media user by the name Himanshu Sangwan had to face the abuse from the trolls once Kohli got out. The trolls got to such an extent that he had to put out a post on social media stating that he’s not Railways bowler Himanshu Sangwan people are mistaking him for.

Who is Himanshu Sangwan?

Himanshu Sangwan is a right-arm medium-pacer who represents the Railways at the domestic level. The cricketer hails from Najafgarh, Delhi and made his List A debut in September 2019, for Railways in the 2019–20 Vijay Hazare Trophy. Couple of months later, Sangwan made his T20 debut in November 2019, for Railways in the 2019–20 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. Apart from the Railways, Sangwan has also represented the Delhi under-19 squad. Himanshu Sangwan worked as a ticket collector at the New Delhi Railway Station.
