New Delhi: Everton have reignited their season with David Moyes back at the helm of the club. Against Leicester City who started their weekend in 17th place in the table, the Toffees opened their scoring at the Goodison Park in just ten seconds from kick-off when Abdoulaye Dououre found the back of the net from Jordan Pickford’s long shot. The opening goal was the fourth fastest goal in the Premier League history and the fastest by a home team in this league.

With this goal, Everton have scored the most number of Premier League goals in the opening minute of a game with their tally of 14 goals. This was also their fastest goal ever in the competition. Everton doubled this effort just five minutes later with Beto scoring in his second Premier League start for the side with James Tarkowski’s measured pass ensuring that the striker was able to put the ball in the bottom corner.

Going into halftime, Everton had already scored their third goal with Beto getting a brace from James Garner’s amazing pass. The win would ensure that Everton have a considerable gap between them and the relegation zone and climbs the table to 15th place in the table with a nine-point gap from the relation zone and just seven points away from climbing into the top half of the table.

David Moyes’s start in his second stint with the Premier League saw him lose 1-0 against Aston Villa. However, from game one he had brought back some of the old traits of Everton as they were pressing more and overall aggressive on the field with their tactics. He has won twice since, including a 3-2 win over Tottenham Hotspur where they had taken away the game from Lillywhites in the first half itself. Against Brighton and Hove Albion, the Merseyside team though wasn’t as flamboyant yet they won 1-0.
