Will Conor McGregor make his UFC comeback in 2025? Dana White shares crucial update

New Delhi: Amid mystery over double UFC champion Conor McGregor’s long-standing absence from the competition, UFC CEO Dana White has provided an uninspiring update on his return to the ring. McGregor has not entered the Octagon since July 2021 after suffering a leg injury during his last fight against former interim Lightweight champion Dustin Poirier.

Fans are eagerly waiting for the comeback of the ‘The Notorious’ who is reportedly expected to return to action in UFC later this year. However, that might not be the case after all. White recently addressed the speculations over McGregor’s return to the ring this year while speaking to reporters after the conclusion of UFC Saudi Arabia last week.

UFC Saudi Arabia concluded with Nassourdine Imavov knocking out former UFC Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya in just 30 seconds in the 2nd round of their fight. White was asked about McGregor’s eventual return during his interaction with the media post the fight. The UFC CEO refused to give a clear answer on whether the Irish superstar will return to action this year or not and kept his answer brief.

“Conor? I’m not sure when Conor will be back,” White told the reporters, maintaining the mystery surrounding McGregor’s comeback to the UFC.

When Conor McGgreor’s return was postponed last year

Many expected McGregor to make a comeback with a fight against Michael Chandler in the main event at UFC 303 in June last year. However, the fight was postponed after the Irish superstar suffered a toe injury weeks before the match and it was never rescheduled. At the time McGregor admitted it was tough for him to be ruled out of the fight just weeks before his much-awaited comeback

However, he admitted it was a decision he took after consulting with the medical professionals as his injury required more time than what he had before his fight against Chandler. Though McGregor remains contracted with UFC, White has refused to provide clarity on the Irish superstar’s future and has remained coy on when the double UFC champion will make his comeback in the ring.
