New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has cracked a whip against head coach Gautam Gambhir, barring his personal assistant to travel with the Indian cricket team. This step comes after the Indian cricket board received complaints from some BCCI officials that Gambhir’s personal assistant Gaurav Arora had access to the corners while the same has been stopped for all the players of the team.

As reported by Cricblogger, Arora was seen accessing the areas where only Team Indian players, selectors and officials are allowed following which some officials held protests in front of the Indian cricket board, forcing the board to take the action. The report further mentions that Arora had access to selectors’ cars, the BCCI’s hospitality box at the Adelaide Oval and the breakfast zone in team hotels, which are usually reserved for the Indian players and officials.

BCCI bars Gambhir’s PA from staying same hotel

“In response, the BCCI has barred Gambhir’s PA from staying in the same hotel as the Indian team, accessing VIP boxes in stadiums, and using the team bus. He can’t travel with the team,” the BCCI source said.

The Indian cricket board was forced to take action as it had started facing the flux about the clarity of the rules and their applicability on just the Team India players. While the players have been taking the disciplinary pointers released seriously, participating in the domestic matches among other things, BCCI set an example by tightening things around the head coach as well sending a loud and clear message that rules are same for all.

Last month, the Indian cricket board released a 1-point diktat for the Indian cricket team after a dismal tour to Australia, where they lost the series 1-3. So as to control further damage, the BCCI, taking stern action, made domestic cricket mandatory for Team India players and also restricted the involvement of families on overseas tour.

Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir’s personal assistant Gaurav Arora has not been given permission to travel with the team following complaints.  Cricket Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
