Kolkata: Motilal Oswal Mutual Fund has launched an NFO for Motilal Oswal Innovation Opportunities Fund. The NFO opened on January 29 and will remain open till February 12. It is an open-ended mutual fund scheme, the investment strategy of which is not only to withstand market uncertainty but also to benefit from it. It will be benchmarked against the Nifty 500 Total Return Index.
This fund aims at achieving long-term capital appreciation by mainly investing in equity and equity-related instruments of companies that adopt innovative strategies or follow the innovation theme. It must be noted that scheme will rank very high on the risk-o-meter. It will be available with two plans — a regular plan and a direct plan.
Bottom-up investment strategy
According to the NFO document, Motilal Oswal Innovation Opportunities Fund will employ a bottom-up investment strategy. It has also been mentioned that the portfolio of the fund will be Anti-Fragile. An “antifragile investment strategy” refers to a strategy of investing which aims to withstand market volatility as well as benefit from it by spotting opportunities to profit during periods of uncertainty. It combines safe investments with high-risk, high-reward ones.
