REVEALED: Harry Kane’s shockingly low Bayern Munich release clause for English clubs

New Delhi: Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane is one of the best strikers in the world currently, joining the Bavarian giants in the previous season’s summer transfer window after making his name in England. The current England captain, who was once part of Arsenal’s academy before coming a legend at their fierce rivals Tottenham, ruled the Premier League’s scoring charts during his time at the Lilywhites.

It seemed like the striker was destined to break the long standing Premier League goal scoring record of Alan Shearer but he decided to explore pastures new and joined the Bavarian giants. He has continued his prolific goal scoring form in Germany as well and finished last season as the best striker in the league before taking that form into the current season as well.

Ever since he completed a club-record £86.4 million move to Bayern Munich, Kane has scored 70 goals in just 72 games for the club. With players like Jamal Musiala, Michael Olise and maybe even Florian Wirtz in the future to set up chances for him, it looks like he is destined to have a fruitful time in the German capital. His time at the club though could be cut short starting next season.

The 31-year-old reportedly has a shockingly low release clause in his contract which becomes active for English clubs from the summer of 2025 onwards. The forward signed a four year contract at the club last year, keeping him at Bayern till the summer of 2027 and has been earning the big bucks, especially after achieving a €250,000 bonus for achieving more then 40 goal contributions last season, something he looks set to cross this season as well.

Harry Kane’s surprisingly low release clause

Harry Kane could be available for cheaply for other English clubs from the next season onwards according to reports. Reputed German outlet BILD claims that Kane has a special clause in his current contract that will allow the player to leave Bayern for any English club for just £66.5 million in the next transfer window. The clause further drops down to £54 million in the summer of 2026, making him a viable option for any club.

Another report from English newspaper, The Telegraph, claim that Kane’s former club, Tottenham Hotspur also have a first-refusal as part of their deal. Having a first refusal means if any club does intend to trigger Kane’s release clause at Bayern, the Bavarian club would be obligated to notify Spurs, giving Spurs the opportunity to match the offer and bring Kane back to the club, but the striker would still have to agree personal terms.

While the low release clause for a player of Kane’s ability does make him an even hotter commodity in the transfer market, it doesn’t seem likely that the striker will leave Bayern Munich next summer. The striker is reported to be extremely happy in Germany and left Spurs to finally win a trophy in his career, something that has eluded him till now. Given Bayern’s recent dominance in the league, this seems like the best place for Kane to be to win silverware for the player and with the club targeting ambitious transfers for the future, it doesn’t seem like the right time to leave the club.

Bayern Munich star Harry Kane reportedly has a surprisingly low release clause in his contract that could make him available for English clubs for much cheaper than what his worth is.  Football Sports News: Latest Cricket News, Cricket Live Score, Sports Breaking News from Sports Today
