New Delhi: The UFC 312 event kicked off with a 19 seconds knockout fight where Australian fighter defeated Indian fighter in just 19 seconds. Quillan Salkilld impressed everyone by his performance on his debut bout in the UFC.
In the preliminary card, UFC featherweight champion Ilia Topuria’s brother Aleksandre Topuria was featured against Colby Thickness. Ilia was in the corner of Aleksandre and giving instructions to his brother during the bout.
Aleksandre defeated Colby via unanimous decision and started his UFC career on a high note. The fight was in the Bantamweight division. The Joker defeated Batman in a women’s division bout as Wang Cong beat Bruna Brasil Don via decision.
Both women dressed up as Joker and Batman respectively in the final face off at ceremonial weigh-ins of UFC 312.
In the co-main event, Women’s strawweight champion Weili Zhang successfully defended her title against Tatiana Suarez. Zhang started things off with some leg kicks and Suarez tried to land in side control and controlled the first round easily and put pressure on the champion early on.
Zhang hit some hard inside leg kicks in the second round and to escape kicks Suarez moved in but caught with a right hand by Zhang. The champion made comeback in the second round and started dominating the bout.
After the first round, Zhang dominated all four rounds and ended the fight with a score of 49-46 and all judges scored the fight in favor of the champion.
Jimmy Crute and Rodolfo Bellator’s fight ended in a draw after three-rounds. Crute dominated the first round and judges scored 10-8 in favor of Crute. The 10-8 score is very rare in the UFC but after the first round Bellato won the other two rounds and the outcome came as a draw.
