New Delhi: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has revealed the prize money for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025, scheduled to start on February 19. The total sum of the prize amount has been increased by a massive 53 percent from the previous edition of the tournament held in 2017.
The Champions Trophy will be played from February 19 to March 9 in Pakistan and United Arab Emirates. A total of eight teams will compete to lift the trophy. The tournament will be played in the group stage followed by the semi-final and final, with a total of 15 matches scheduled to be hosted across four venues.
Breakdown of Prize Money for ICC Champions Trophy 2025
The winner of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will receive a whopping cash prize of $2.24 million (INR 19.4 crore), and the runners-up will walk away with $1.12 million (INR 10 crore). Meanwhile, the two semifinalists (in losing cause) will be granted a sum of $560,000 each (INR 4.8 crore each). The total prize pool accounts for $6.9 million this time (INR 59 crore), a rise of 53 percent as mentioned above.

Furthermore, winner of a group stage match (total 12 matches) will be awarded $34,000 (INR 29 lakh). The teams who don’t make it to the semifinals are also guaranteed of a prize reward. The teams which end at fifth and sixth places, will receive $350,000 (INR 3 crore each) while teams settling for seventh and eighth spots will bag $140,000 (INR 1.2 crore each).
There is more to this bonanza. Each of the eight participating teams are guaranteed of $125,000 for their participation in the showpiece ICC tournament.
“The ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 represents a pivotal moment for cricket, reviving a tournament that highlights the pinnacle of ODI talent, where every match is critical,” said ICC chairman Jay Shah in a media release.
“The substantial prize pot underscores the ICC’s ongoing commitment to investing in the sport and maintaining the global prestige of our events,” he added.
