New Delhi: Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar has been garnering attention for its grandeur. However, his niece Sharmin Segal who happened to play the lead role in the Netflix series, has been grabbing headlines for all the wrong reasons. For those who do not know, the 28-year-old was trolled for her ‘stone-face’ acting and bland dialogue delivery in the show. Now, the Malaal actress was slammed for her snide remark.
In a recent interview, Sharmin was seen being ‘rude’ to her Heeramandi co-star Sanjeeda Sheikh who happens to be her senior.
Sharmin Segal’s ‘rude’ remark
It all started when a user on Reddit shared a clip from a recent interview. In the clip, Sanjeeda was seen speaking about SLB being a perfectionist and that he wants everything to look not mediocre because whatever he does is nothing less than excellence. However, when Sharmin was asked about the same, she said, “Perfectionist is a very basic word. It’s the kind of a word that an outsider who has never worked with him, been on his set and seen the kind of director that he is will use.”

Well, this did not sit well with the netizens who believed that Sharmin was no one to throw a remark like that, especially Heeramandi being her third project. A user slammed her in the comment section and wrote, “This is your (Sharmin) 3rd project. You have no experience, no talent, nothing. You are the one who’s least likely to accurately define what kind of director he is. The ego she has to not only cut off Sanjeeda (when she was directly asked that question by name) but to also insult her? someone who has almost two decades of experience over her.”
Another user wrote, “Of course SLB isn’t a perfectionist in Sharmin’s eyes because he never demanded anything from her. No wonder she is surprised why other’s experiences are different from hers. The OUTSIDERS actually delivered note worthy performances.”
