New Delhi: Banks will remain closed on April 10, 2025 in several states on the occasion of Mahavir Janmakalyanak/Mahavir Jayanti. The bank holiday schedules are managed by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and it is the sole authority which decides the list of bank holidays across the country. As bank holidays can vary depending on the state, customers should make sure to check whether their bank will be open on the particular day or not.
According to the RBI Bank Holiday list, banks will observe a holiday on 10th April in Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Belapur, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Chennai, Jaipur, Kanpur, Kolkata, Mumbai, Lucknow, Nagpur, Delhi, Raipur and Ranchi.
The RBI list mentions that banks will remain in several parts of the country on April 14 for Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti/Vishu/Biju/Buisu Festival/Maha Vishuva Sankranti/Tamil New Year’s Day/Bohag Bihu/Cheiraoba
The banks will remain closed in West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Shimla on April 15 for Bengali New Year’s Day/Himachal Day/Bohag Bihu.
There are several other events in the month of April when banks will observe holidays in different parts of the country.
April 18: Banks will be closed in all states except Srinagar, Rajasthan, Jammu, Tripura, Assam, and Himachal Pradesh for Good Friday.
April 21: Banks will observe a holiday in Tripura for Garia Puja festival.
April 29: Bhagwan Shri Parshuram Jayanti – Banks will be closed in Himachal Pradesh.
April 30: Basava Jayanti and Akshaya Tritiya – Banks will be closed in Karnataka.
It may be noted that bank customers can use digital banking services such as UPI, mobile banking, ATMs, and internet banking on days when the banks are closed.
