New Delhi: Banks across India will remain closed for 12 days, according to the RBI calendar. The holidays differ from state to state and based on the type of holidays certain banking services will remain open for customers. Holidays are decided as per week holidays designated by the RBI as well as holidays under the Negotiable Instruments Act.
Weekends
There are 5 Sundays in June, which means customers have lesser opportunities to finish branch banking.
Apart from that banks will also remain closed on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of June which fall on June 8 and June 22.
According to an RBI order, all banks, private and public, are closed on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of every month. This is aimed at reducing bank employees’ workload.
