New Delhi: FC Barcelona and Inter Milan battled their way to a thrilling 3-3 draw in the UEFA Champions League semifinal first leg clash at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys in Montjuïc, Barcelona on Wednesday. Inter’s attacking prowess stood totally apart from the home side, which did manage to impress the locals but couldn’t maintain a lead, setting up an exciting second leg clash for the next week.

The Simone Inzaghi-coached side stunned the hosts early as Marcus Thuram was pretty quick in netting the opener in the crucial clash, making it the fastest goal in Champions League semifinal history within 30 seconds. Some 20 minutes later, Denzel Dumfries came to the picture as he doubled the lead with a splendid overhead kick which put the Catalonians on the back foot.

However, it was the time for teenage sensation Lamine Yamal to showcase his brilliance as he ignited Barça’s comeback with a brilliant solo effort in the 24th minute. This marked his 100th appearance for the club, and he also became the first player in the club to score in a Champions League semifinal since Lionel Messi in 2019. capitalising on the little momentum shift, Ferran Torres leveled the score seven minutes before halftime.
