New Delhi: Star batter Virat Kohli became the first player in the history of Indian Premier League (IPL) to smash 300 sixes for any franchise. Kohli attained the landmark during Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB’s) against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Saturday at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Before entering the match, Kohli was on 299 sixes, just a hit short of the massive record.
The veteran RCB player, who has hit the maximum sixes, is followed by Chris Gayle who has smashed 263 maximums for RCB, 262 by Rohit Sharma for Mumbai Indians, 258 by Kieron Pollard for MI and 257 by MS Dhoni for Chennai Super Kings.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli continued his superb run in IPL 2025 with another blistering half-century. The veteran RCB batter scored 62 runs off just 33 balls which included 5 sixes and as many boundaries. Kohli stitched a 97-run stand with opening partner Jacob Bethell who scored 55 runs laced with 8 boundaries and 2 sixes.
While CSK changed the scheme of things with multiple wickets but Romario Shepherd turned the tide for RCB with 14-ball 53-run knock which included 6 sixes and 4 boundaries to lift RCB to a mammoth score of 213/5 in the stipulated 20 overs. He hit the fastest fifty for RCB in IPL history and the second fastest overall in the history of the cash-rich league.
