New Delhi: Former India captain Sourav Ganguly recently met Rajasthan Royals (RR) batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi after his side’s clash against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Eden Gardens in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. Ganguly came up with some golden advice for the 14-year-old, who has taken the league by storm with his impressive show for RR.

Ganguly met with Rajasthan Royals (RR) players and head coach Rahul Dravid after their game against KKR on Sunday. As per the Bengali daily Sangbad Pratidin, Ganguly met RR skipper Sanju Samson and head coach Dravid before meeting Suryavanshi. The former India skipper checked the 14-year-old’s bat and urged him to continue playing the way he has done so far.

“I have seen your game. Keep playing the way you play fearless cricket. There is no need to change the game,” Ganguly told Suryavanshi, as per the report.

Suryavanshi, who has become the toast of the cricketing world, couldn’t continue his impressive run in RR’s clash against KKR at the Eden Gardens on Sunday as he was dismissed cheaply on just 4 off 2 balls. The 14-year-old left-hander got caught by Ajinkya Rahane trying to smash a bouncer from KKR pacer Vaibhav Arora.

Suryavanshi recently became the youngest centurion in T20 cricket after smashing a stunning knock of 101 runs off just 38 balls to help the Rajasthan Royals thrash the Gujarat Titans by 8 wickets in IPL 2025. Suryavanshi notched up his ton off just 35 balls, scoring the fastest ton by an Indian in the tournament. His knock was laced with 11 sixes and 7 fours as he lit up the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur with fireworks off his bat.

RR lose thriller against KKR

Rajasthan Royals lost a thrilling encounter by just 1 run against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens on Sunday. Riyan Parag’s 45-ball 95 put RR on track for a victory after a stuttering start. However, KKR bowlers pulled things back in style in the death overs. Vaibhav Arora held his nerves to defend 22 off the last over and 3 runs off the last ball against Shubam Dubey to help KKR clinch a nail-biting win.
